Panama has become the newest PCT Contracting State. PCT applications filed after September 7, 2012 will automatically include the designation of Panama.

There are now 146 PCT Contracting States. The most recent additions are:

• Panama – effective September 2012
• Brunei Darussalam – effective July 2012
• Qatar – effective August 2011
• Rwanda – effective August 2011
