Crown Copyright

A private member’s bill, C-209, was introduced last week that would abolish Crown Copyright.The legislation was introduced by the Brian Masse (Windsor West) who introduced a private members bill last session, see Bill C-440 that would have made the same amendment:

12 Without prejudice to any rights or privileges of the Crown, no copyright subsists in any work that is, or has been, prepared or published by or under the direction or control of Her Majesty or any government department.
