The Federal Court has indicated that the Suspension Period for Ontario, Quebec and the territories will end on June 29. The Suspension Period for the rest of Canada already ended on June 15.

Please read today’s Practice Direction (link) and the Consolidated COVID-19 Practice Direction (link) for details. Note that the Court has ordered that:

Parties to proceedings in which a hearing has been adjourned as a result of an Order establishing or extending the Suspension Period shall provide the Judicial Administrator with their mutual dates of non-availability up to December 18, 2020. For Western Canada and Atlantic Canada, such dates should be provided no later than June 29, 2020. For Ontario, Quebec and the territories, such dates shall be provided no later than the close of business on July 13, 2020.

The Practice Direction notes that hearings are likely to continue to be scheduled by phone or video even after the end of the Suspension Period, and registry services are likely to continue to be limited.
