Thank you for another year with IPPractice! Looking back at 2023, I sent out about 490,000 emails to over 2200 subscribers. I included reports on about 150 IP-related court decisions and over 300 new IP proceedings. My most popular post was about the CIPO fee increases that came into force yesterday, January 1, 2024.

Website Updates
Earlier this month, the Federal Court of Appeal updated its website, including the online docket listings to be similar to the Federal Court website. As a result of this change, I have now updated the IPPractice file browser to work again, including from embedded links in the daily emails, and added direct ‘download’ links where documents are available online.
Outage
As you may have noticed, there was no IPPractice email last week. The outage was due to a computer failure but the site has been rebuilt. Today’s email includes all the updates from last week and Monday’s email should be back to normal. Continue reading Outage
