Appointments

Negar Azmudeh, Assistant Deputy Chairperson at the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada was appointed a Judge of the Federal Court. Appointments were also made yesterday to the courts in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Newfoundland & Labrador, Nunavut.

Yesterday’s appointments:

  • Federal Court:
    • Negar Azmudeh, Assistant Deputy Chairperson at the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada was appointed to the Federal Court.
  • Ontario:
    • Jason P. Howie, Partner at Howie Johnson Barristers & Solicitors in Windsor was appointed to the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario.
    • Sandra Antoniani, a sole practitioner in Hamilton was appointed to the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario.
    • Jennifer E. Bezaire, Managing Partner at Greg Monforton & Partners Injury Lawyers in Windsor was appointed to the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario.
    • Alexandre Kaufman, Associate Judge of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario in Ottawa was appointed to the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario.
  • British Columbia:
    • J. Gareth Morley, Senior Counsel at the Ministry of the Attorney General of British Columbia was appointed to the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
  • Alberta:
    • Shelley A. Moore, a sole practitioner in Calgary was appointed to the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta.
  • Saskatchewan:
    • Jodi R. Wildeman, K.C., Partner at MLT Aikins in Regina was appointed the Court of King’s Bench.
  • Manitoba:
    • The Honourable Alain G.J. Huberdeau, a Judge of the Provincial Court of Manitoba in Winnipeg, was appointed a Judge of the Court of King’s Bench of Manitoba.
    • Sarah A. Inness, Founding Lawyer at Campbell Gunn Inness Seib Jones in Winnipeg was appointed a Judge of the Court of King’s Bench of Manitoba
    • The Honourable Anne Turner, the Honourable David J. Kroft, and the Honourable James G. Edmond were appointed to the Court of Appeal for Manitoba.
  • Newfound and Labrador:
    • Leanne M. O’Leary, K.C., Managing Partner at Cox & Palmer in St. John’s was appointed to the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Nunavut:
    • Mia Manocchio, Justice of the Peace at the Government of Nunavut was appointed to the Nunavut Court of Justice.
